MACE IDOWU ADEGBITE
Idowu Adegbite was born in Oke-Odan in the year 1964. His elementary education cuts across Oke-Odan, Ijebu- Igbo and Ibadan. In 1975, he was one of the pioneer students of the Ansar –Ud-Deen High School, Ejigbo (now Osun State). Upon the creation of Ogun State he moved to the Macjob Grammar School, Onikolobo Abeokuta and later to the Reverend Kuti Memorial Grammar School, Isabo, Abeokuta.
His tertiary education cuts across the Ogun State Polytechnic, Abeokuta (1981-1983, for GCE Advanced level ); brief stint at the College of Education, Osiele, Abeokuta; Ogun State University, (now Olabisi Onabanjo University) Ago-Iwoye between 1984 and 1988 (LL.B, Hons.) ; the Nigerian Law School, ( 1988-1989) and later to the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife ,1990 – 1991 for his Maters in Law degree. He served the nation under the National Youth Service Corps scheme in Ibadan (1990).
Idowu Adegbite is an Associate Professor of Law, Department of Private Law, Faculty of Law, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye. He has served the University in numerous capacities as Coordinator, Diploma-in- Law Programme, Ag. Head of Department, Member of several University Management and Senate Committees and as Ag. Dean of Law Faculty for 5 years.
Idowu Adegbite has attended several Conferences, Trainings and Workshops in numerous countries such as , Makarere University, Uganda ; The Peace Palace (World Court), at the Hague, Netherlands ; European University Firenze in Italy ; Castellon in Spain; National University of Singapore, Singapore, The Judicial Institute, Chandigarh, India , Oslo Norway and Copenhagen in Denmark , just to mention a few. His area of academic interest cuts across law of Torts; Human Rights Law; Oil & Gas Law and Law of Arbitration. Professionally, he is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association and the Nigerian Association of Law Teachers. He served as a Member of the Judicial Commission of Inquiry set up by the Ogun State Government to look into the Ado-Odo crisis in year 2013 and he was appointed a Member of the Governing Council of the Ogun State Polytechnic, Ipokia by the government.
He is an active Member of the Mace Club of Nigeria, Abeokuta. He is a Member of the Management Committee of the Club, had served on a number of Committees of the Club including Member and Chairman of the Mace Electoral Committee respectively and was once the elected Secretary General of the Club. He received the maiden award of the Most Disciplined Member of the Club.
He is the Principal, Idowu Adegbite & Co, a firm of Legal Practitioners located in Abeokuta. He is happily married to Taiwo who is also a Legal Practitioner
